Cat Sitting in Dubai: What to Expect from a Home Visit
If you’ve never used a professional cat sitter before, you might be wondering what actually happens when someone comes to your home. Here’s exactly what a typical visit with The Velvet Nest looks like.
Before the first visit
Everything starts with a Meet & Greet. I come to your home, meet your cat in their own space, and take note of everything that matters: favourite spots, food preferences, little quirks, medication schedules, and how they react to a new person.
This is also when we agree on access (your key, a smart lock code, or a lockbox) and note your vet’s contact details, just in case.
What happens during each visit
Visits last 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on what your cat needs. For longer trips, Daily Care covers two visits a day, morning and evening.
Every visit follows the same routine:
- Fresh food and water, prepared exactly the way your cat likes it
- Litter box cleaned and refreshed
- Wellbeing check: I watch how your cat eats, drinks, moves and behaves, so nothing unusual goes unnoticed
- Playtime and enrichment, adapted to your cat’s personality and energy
- Medication if needed (daily treatment for chronic conditions, such as asthma, is included at no extra cost)
- Brushing and nail trimming, on request
- A little home care: blinds adjusted, lights switched on or off, plants watered
Your visit update
After every visit, you receive a photo of your cat and a short note on how they’re doing, directly in your Time To Pet client account. You can check in anytime from the app or the portal.
The goal is simple: you should never have to wonder how your cat is doing.
Why home visits work so well for cats
Cats are territorial. Their sense of safety is closely tied to a familiar place: their scent, their favourite window, their hiding spots. Moving to a new environment is one of the most common sources of stress for cats, which is why many of them find time away from home difficult.
A home visit keeps your cat exactly where they feel safest. Same smells, same sounds, same routine. The only difference is that someone who genuinely cares comes by to make sure everything is just right.
